Your Story.

Use this form to write about a time that you demanded the change to stop a sexually harmful, abusive, exploitive or violent act or practice. We are looking for acts of prevention where individuals, families, communities or organizations demanded the change. We are also looking for stories where the action taken inspired or were catalytic to a change of heart in another individual or organization that was key to a change of practice.

The action you took may have been something small or really big.  It could be something you did as an individual or together with others in your home, school, community or organization. Choosing to demand the change – change of heart, takes strength and courage. It takes transforming feelings of being overwhelmed or numb or of hurt or outrage into preventive action.  Such activism in a heart centered way, may be second nature to you or may be a major decision.

We know a lot of people are make daily decisions to no longer accept sexually abusive, degrading or harmful actions as “just the way it is” or “no big deal” and are taking action to show they do care and that they have a right to demand a change. We know a lot of people through their actions or words, have inspired a change of heart in others; sometimes without even knowing the impact they had.  Collecting these stories helps to build a movement and celebrate positive actions people are taking that others can learn from and be part of.  We look forward to learning from your experience!

If there is an image, story, or other representation of the event that you can send in to illustrate your story, please send it to demandthechange@mncasa.org.
